Understanding meaning expression parable by an Indian students

This study aims to explore the understanding of meaning in parables by Indian students. The adaptation and modification Roland Barthes’s Semiotic Theory Lev Vygotsky’s Social Constructivism were used as basis study. A qualitative design was this conducted a regular daily secondary school Selangor involving five students, where Malay is second language. Parables are one types proverbs contained Form Two Language Curriculum Assessment Standard Document. Cermin Minda Instrument: test students' levels parables. results analysis found that participants could name visual objects denotatively but failed associate parable with object. Study also express accurately based on their concepts. Overall, students have not yet mastered because they unable reach level expressing implicit producing new cognitive. implication need be given comprehensive exposure expressions well denotative connotative meanings produce
